EDM Council – CDO Forum | Data Management Best Practices

Tuesday, April 4, 2017
03:45 PM - 04:30 PM

Level:  Business/Strategic

The discipline of data management is an ever-changing landscape. What was data management 10 years ago is almost completely different from data management is today. And, it will be completely different 5 years from now. The question that is being asked is, have we progressed our processes and practices to the point where we can say we are effectively managing our data assets? Are we addressing the defensive challenges of risk and compliance? Are we positioned to address the challenges of insight and analytics? And are we on the right path to meet the next set of challenges that lie ahead?

The objective of this presentation is to explore this historical timeline and discuss some of the innovative approaches that are being used to position our data management programs for now and into the future. This session will look at the role of the Chief Data Officer – “CDO Version 1.0” (the CDO today), and what “CDO 2.0” will look like. And finally, this session will discuss the changing environment – look at the storms we’ve had to weather, and the storms yet to come.
