Healthwise's mission is to help people make better health decisions. For 40 years, Healthwise has been fulfilling its mission by producing and distributing evidence-based and unbiased health information for consumers. Our customers want to integrate our content in every conceivable way and into every screen, device, and workflow.

To that end, Healthwise has embarked on a project that unites modular content, ontologies, and modern restful web services. Content can be found according to any number of taxonomies, many of which are already in use by our customers.

In this presentation, I'll discuss the innovative work that we're doing and why we are doing it. In the process we'll tour the problem space, our current direction, and some lessons learned. Along the way, I'll discuss: RDF, DITA, ReST, Solr, XML databases and some of the human lessons too.

Adam Kimball finds content delivery to be a righteous subject. For over a decade, he’s sought to build better ways to build and deliver content. These days, Adam is focused on semantics and technology but through the lens of a modular content platform.
